It looks like my team, The Wild, will make the playoffs with their win tonight. Barring any implosions, they're set up.

unfortunately, my team is the Columbus Bluejackets.
But luckily, I'm also a fan of the Redwings, so i can still care about the post-season :)

the Kings, will miss the playoffs, again, and have a shot at a high draft pick. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
But I'm a Kopitarian, so I have faith.

Go Wings! They looked good last night against the predators! If they win tonight, they'll be in first place again!
What's with throwing the carp out on the ice? Does everyone have to copy our octopus tradition?

9. It's a great day to be a Pens fan, |
|
with yesterday's deal being announced, a pretty good effort against a very strong Sabres team, and with the playoffs looming for the first time in a good while, as the late, great Badger Bob Johnson always said, "It's a great day for hockey"

12. Oh the one and only Mike Lange, |
|
there's only been one other broadcaster who could ever liven up a game like him and that's the Gunner, Bob Prince.
btw, I've heard a rumor that Lange was replaced. Living in Philly I only get games on Versus or when they play the Flyers.

...but I got the Center Ice Package on DirecTV...I watch all the games.
"It's a... HOCKEY NIGHT in Pittsburgh!" "It's A Great Day for Hockey!" (said at the start of daytime games, based off a quote by former Penguins Coach "Badger" Bob Johnson) "I'll be cow-kicked!" "Oh no, Eddie Spaghetti!" "Heeeeeeeeeeeee shoots and scores!" "Scratch my back with a hacksaw!" "Well shave my face with a rusty razor!" "He was hit so hard his kids will be born dizzy" "Donna needs a donut!" "He left the defensemen on the parkway going to the airport!" "Look out, Loretta!" "Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too!" "He doesn't know whether to cry or wind his watch" "Michael, Michael, Motorcycle" "He hasn't scored since the eighth-grade picnic." "Never teach a pig to sing!" "Get in the fast lane Grandma, the bingo game's ready to roll!" "She wants to sell my monkey!" "Call Arnold Slick from Turtle Creek!" (pronounced crick) "He beat him like a rented mule!" "He's all over 'em like a new pair of shoes." "Big Ben strikes one." (said when a shot hit the goal post) "Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has just left the building!" (generally said when an empty net goal is scored) "Book 'em Dano!" "He Picked His Pocket Like He was Walking down 5th Avenue" "And he's smilin' like a butcher's dog" "He takes the heat out of a hot kitchen" (generally used after the Penguins clear the puck while penalty killing) "How much fried chicken can you eat?" "Oh slap me silly Sidney!" "Get that dog off my lawn!" "And the kitchen is closed!" "He smoked him like a bad cigar!" (originally stated in Czech when the Penguins had Jaromir Jagr) "You can spit-shine your shoes, 'cause the Pens are going dancing with Lord Stanley!'" "Lord Stanley, Lord Stanley, bring me the brandy!" "I've seen that fish before!" "Let's go hunt moose on a Harley"

I love Mario now more than ever! I wanted to name my firstborn after him...but she turned out to be a girl. Oh, well...
Where did Mike Lange, the greatest announcer in hockey, end up? Living in Atlanta, I haven't heard.

It's easier for me to get into teams whose tickets I can afford.
I hear they actually do have more Red Wings tickets available this year, but in the recent past it's always been a case of getting them from someone's company, or buying someone's season ticket they don't want to use for like $70 face.

I love hockey (the Red Wings in particular) but I only get a chance to watch them a few times a year since I moved away from Detroit. To make matters worse, the past two games I watched ended with the Wings losing -- I'm superstitious so I automatically assumed that they lost because I was watching. ;)
