Here's Sinead O'Connor with the Chieftains doing The Foggy Dew.

Do any of you have any favorites to share?

In my opinion, this is the best version of Danny Boy that I've ever heard. RIP Eva.

9. Have you ever heard Jackie Wilson's version of Danny Boy? I can't
find one to link up to so you have to take my word for it, his voice, his singing, added a dimension to the song that I just can't describe.

6. I've never heard of them but I plan to listen to all of these clips.
The Rifles of the IRA sounds like a helluva protest song:

"They shot down wives and children
In their own heroic way, but
The black and tans, like lightening ran
From the Rifles of the IRA."

15. I Like DKM
But I loved Mike McColgan's voice better than the new guy (if you could call him new, he's been with them forever now, huh?). Not that I wouldn't like to see them yet again (I've only missed 1 pgh show), they're great live, super fun.

McColgan's new group, The Street Dogs, is good. This video rocks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMJ9DZrSyN0

18. I can't let this thread die without sharing these two videos with you:
They are by the Rankin family from Canada. The first is a beautiful song in Gaelic. No, I don't know what it means but I believe that this is what angels sound like. The second one is one that you can dance to. They really raised the roof with it. Enjoy!
