Truckin' public service announcement |
|
I'm one hard workin' truckin' fool and I got no time to waste on idiotic four-wheelers who cut in front of me and slow down. And I'll tell you what, if you pull that damned rice burnin' piece o' shit to the side of the road I'll show you exactly what you can do with that middle finger.
Seriously, folks, I do drive a truck for a living and I can put up with a lot of shit out there on the road, but there are times when a public service announcement is due concerning safety.
When you see a vehicle on the shoulder of the road, pull into the left lane and give the vehicle a little room. I deliver car parts to dealerships. If you've seen a 70 foot rig and if you've seen a car dealership you know that the two don't always work well together. At two of the stops I make every night I have to park the truck on the side of the road and then wheel the parts cart into the dealership from there. I'd say about half of the people who can move over to the left lane do so. The other half must not care. Here I am standing on the shoulder of a road and I've got vehicles going 60 mph hurling by just a few feet away from me.
I'm sure you all have seen those cop shows where a trooper is standing on the side of the road and his car gets hit by someone traveling in the right lane and almost kills him. Well, I got news. Sometimes those cars traveling in the right lane don't miss.
If you can, please move over for vehicles on the side of the road.

1. No offense but you can tell some of your fellow truckers to try the same thing on the interstate |
|
when they see a passenger vehicle pulled off on the shoulder with problems. I have had a lot of trucks just whip on by even though there is nobody in the left lane - scares the crap out of me and feels like your doors are going to fly off.
And what's up with chucking bottles of piss on the side of the road? Can't you guys find a trash can or haul it to a toilet and dump it there? :puke:

2. I always pull over to get out of the way. |

as a cyclist, I know how it is to be on the shoulder and have these fast-ass cars and trucks comin' up right next to me, with inches to spare. It's just a matter of common courtesy, that's how I see it.
