What does M.I.A. mean in hip-hop gangsta talk? |
|
I looked on urbandictionary.com and the only definition given was "missing in action" which I don't think is right. So, I am going to ask here, even though doing so means that I have to admit I was watching "I Love New York" on VH1.
Anyway, it is near the end of the season and "New York" is eliminating one of four of her suitors. "Real" and "Chance" are brothers. They dislike one of their competitors, nicknamed "Tango", but are friends with the other, nicknamed "Whiteboy."
SPOILER Anyway, "New York" eliminates "Whiteboy," much to the disappointment of, especially, "Chance." As "Whiteboy" is leaving, "Chance" raises his fist and tells him, "M.I.A. brother!" In turn, "Whiteboy" and "Real" also raise their fists and say, "M.I.A." END SPOILER
Anyone know?

It's sort of a way to say "Stay in school, brother - math skills are important and could lead to a comfortable job later in life," without explicitly saying so.
