Appeal to the Lounge fashion gurus... wedding attire?
The situation:

5:30 p.m. wedding at a very fancy-schmanzy hotel in Nashville next Saturday.

What do I wear?! High near 72, that day.

John thinks I should wear this dress:

What do you think? And if so, can I get away with black strappy heels, or do I need to go shoe shopping? And if I do, what should I be looking for? Egads. Help!

1. That is a smoking hot outfit.
:wow: :wow:

As for shoes I defer to the women. At any rate you'll upstage the bride looking that good. ;-)

2. Thanks, dude!
I feel a wee bit self-conscious in it; it's about a million times dressier and more show-offy than I usually dress!

4. Whoa, baby!! What a hottie!
Love the cleavage, too! You definitely should wear the dress with the strappy black sandals. Red and black is my favorite color combination of all.

You'll set the place on fire, trust me!

You sexy mama, you! :D

:hi: Have fun!

22. Things are pretty good.
I've been doing a lot of cycling lately. MrShine and I rode 104 miles in the 25th annual Solvang Century last weekend, with 5,000 other cyclists. That was cool. It was a beautiful ride that basically took all day. :D

I'm planning a lot more organized rides this spring, so I'm in full-on training mode these days.

:hi: Good to see you! Hope you had fun at the wedding!

5. That's the dress, LynzM!
It'll be after 5:00; the color makes it serious enough for a swanky wedding and yeah, wear the strappy black heels acknowledge the warmer weather. Beautiful!

9. it's an after 5 wedding -- so it's formal.
and that's a lovely after 5 dress -- and always strappy shoes with a dress like that -- something very sexy.

if you have a pashmina to wear when they get married -- or even a chiffon wrap -- or organza -- that would be really cool.

then remove after at the reception.

Take care not to upstage the bride and groom, you two. Briarius is also quite attractive, if posted pics tell the truth. You two could divert attention that would be more wholesomely spent on the banalities of the occasion.

Or go ahead and upstage them, I don't care.

Honestly, that's the only formal dress I own at the moment. So barring having to go out and buy another dress just for this wedding, I wanted to see if this is appropriate attire. I'm not one to steal the limelight; I promise. :)

32. I like it.
Black strappy heels are good.. it's 5:30, so it's "evening" enough, I guess. Because it's so early, I might look for some kind of deep gold strappy heels, but really it's a minute difference (and nice gold heels that don't look like they belong to an exotic dancer are hard to find.). I love your dress!

May I suggest wearing a nice shawl, or scarf or something with it? At least during the ceremony. I think it would add a nice touch, and you could find something in a lightweight fabric that could complement the dress very well.
