I prefer the receipt with me - I tuck it in my wallet so it doesn't get lost. Until fairly recently, a lot of receipts had all the numbers of your credit card on them - not a good thing to lose. And it's easier to lose if it's in the bag.

That's my theory, anyway, and I'm sticking to it.

Give me the receipt and the change and put all those millions of printed out coupons for every product in the store that I DIDN'T buy in the bag.

I know I am frustrating to stand behind in the grocery store. I cannot help it.

When they give me the receipt, the change, and the millions of printed out coupons at the same time like that, I have to seperate them and put the change in my pocket, the coupons in one of the bags, and the receipt in my wallet.

And if someone behind me makes that clucking sound like I'm taking too long, it takes even longer, because I have to stop doing what I am doing and look at them to be sure they are being rude to me and not someone else, so I can know whether I need to give them an indignant look or just go back to juggling the miles of paperwork involved in buying a freaking box of Kotex. It's not like the cashier isn't still sliding all their shit across that optical sensor. They don't need me to move quite that soon. Dammit. It's not like I'm going to take the Kotex home and shoot them up, drink them, or snack on them. I had to pick extras up at the store because Aunt Flo decided to be cantankerous and bless me with more than I bargained for this month.
