Confession: I Hated the film Premonition
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 08:22 PM by Liberalynn
Okay so most of you know I am a huge fan of Julian Mcmahon. I was so looking forward to "Premonition", his movie with Sandra Bullock. I also have enjoyed her movies in the past.

Yet what a major disappointment, this film was IMHO. It was mostly Sandra running around screaming and other wise freaking out. Julian wasn't in it all that much. I got the time line eventually but it was confusing in so many other ways. Things just didn't follow. Like the daughter going through a plate glass window in a storm in real time which everyone knew was an accident, yet somehow in the "Premonition," Bullock's character gets blamed and hospitalized for it.

It was also as depressing as hell. My sister was kind enough to go with me, but at the end she said "that was two hours of my life, I will never get back," and I hated to admit it but I felt the same way.

I hope Hollywood won't judge Julian too much by this movie and still give him the chance to do other better films.

Frankly I would have rather been watching Nip/Tuck on DVD. I guess I am just getting too picky. I haven't liked a movie since Lord of the Rings Return of the King. LOL.

3. I liked two of her movies
Speed and While You Were Sleeping.
Speed mainly b/c of Keanu and the action and the other movie for personal reasons. It was funny and there's a whole long story as to why I like it. I won't bore you with it. I just like it.

But the rest just suck. :puke:

5. I liked Speed with Keanu too!
I also liked A Time to Kill that Sandra did with Morgan Freeman and Matthew McConaughey. I also didn't mind Twenty Eight Days but I think that was because of Viggo Mortensen. ;)

4. It wasn't THAT bad
at least, I thought it was passably decent.

I went to see Julian on a large screen, figuring the movie was going to be absolutely horrid. It wasn't THAT bad. But I guess when you go in expecting horrid and get mediocre, it's a good day, lol.

I agree that Julian wasn't in it nearly enough. I don't even like Sandra Bullock. But oh well.

As for judging Julian, very doubtful. After all, Julia Roberts is (or was?) the highest paid actress in Hollywood, and look at some of the horrid shit she's been in!

If one tepid movie was enough to ruin a career, there'd be a lot of unemployed former-stars out there. In fact, I'm having trouble thinking of anyone who has been in only blockbuster movies. ;)

6. You're right Huskerlaw
about Julia even having some stinkers. Wasn't she the one in "I Love Trouble" with Nick Nolte? I think that was possibly one of the worst movies I ever saw and one of the few I left before it was over. Also "Conspiracy Theory" pretty much stunk too come to think of it and that was when I used to like Mel Gibson, before I found out about his politics.

I was just worrying since Julian is realtively new to the film scene how it will effect his career if Premonition does badly, but you're right he probably will be able to overcome it as others have.

As for Premonition, it probably wasn't the worst film I've ever seen. I guess it is more just the depressing tone that turned me personally off of it.
