7. One of my friends, to this day, thanks her great

grandfather for changing their name at Ellis Island....they came from Russia with the surname Lipschitz. Oy vey!!


I also worked for a company where someone in the IT department's last name was HITTLER!!! OMG I hope she didn't marry into that name and took it willingly. I'm sorry but I think I'd be genetically opposed to marrying anyone with that last name.

It's a neat name. It means pretty flower. Anyone teasing me would have gotten that reply and then a punch where it hurt the most.

You and my mom were teased equally. Try Rennscheidt. That way, you get "Renn-shit", "Rein-schnot", and a host of other semi Teutonic flavored nastiness. Thanks God everyone with that name has either had girls, or no kids. Our name will be officially extinct in the United States after this generation. Although the German cousins are still adding to the menace.
