We changed out our old full size bed for a king when we moved, and oh.my.god do I love that thing! I could sprawl on it all day long. Weirdly, with all the room I have now, I still keep finding myself gravitating to the edge of it, when I sleep.

I loved going from a queen to a king. Like you I still slept on the edge though.
Now I sleep in a queen again, since it's just me. Still sleeping on the edge too.

Lemmie see.....me and my husband started sleeping on a California King many years ago....
We had graduated from a double!
It was amazing......so much room!
I suspect that with time, you will find yourself moving away from the edge...
Heaven on earth!

3. Mmmm, you might as well be talking about porn to me right now. |

Of course, I'd like to see pictures.
I had a full size bed when I was a teenager and thought I needed more room for my music equipment. So I sold it and got a captain's bed. I don't know if you know anything about the captain's/mate's beds, but they come with no box spring and one mattress only. The thing that replaces the box spring is a noisy hard plastic covered wooden thing with no spring to it. Every time you turn over in bed, it sounds like it's passing gas. It's lopsided and uncomfortable too. I was younger when I bought it and haven't gotten around to getting another full size bed. Now, that I am older, I am miserable on the captain's bed. I sleep on the couch now. I spend half the night debating whether to hear the farty captain's bed all night or stay on the couch with my right elbow in my left nostril. Either way I am uncomforatble. I should follow your lead. I saw the words king size bed and heaven in your subject line and my mouth started watering like I was drooling over pictures of pretty women. I can't imagine having room and not feeling like I am falling off the bed or that I am going to be lost under the couch cushions in the morning.

I like King beds as well. There is more room to snuggle, which I also like...

you have a cat or dog hogging all the space. We have a KS...yet I spend most nights on the edge! We have a 20 lb. pug! You would not believe how much she can stretch out across a bed. And once she gets settled...she's as dead as if she ate the bad pet food.
And then there's the Lab. She doesn't sleep with us all night, but she's a determining factor in the scheme of things.
If you don't have pets (or kids) then your KS will be heaven. If you do have pets...good f'ing luck!

On nights he stays over he comes bounding in our room at early thirty yelling "planet bed" as he jumps in to wake us.

When ya got two people.
I like to sleep on my side and put my bottom arm straight out horizontally and my top arm down the side of my body. To have enough room to stick your arm out like that without hitting the other person, you need a king size.
I went to overstock.com. Our king size was getting old and saggy. I got a 3 inch memory foam pad and two memory foam pillows for cheap....helped a bunch. I don't need a separate neckroll for neck support any more.

Full size is fine by me... for plenty of reasons; some of which aren't obvious. :D
