Ok...I'm graduating from college in a *month* |
|
I'm terrified
Guys, this isn't easy for me. But I'm pretty much freaking out over graduating. It's so scary. And it's so frustrating because I've been looking for jobs for over 2 months and I only have a few contacts to contact *after* I graduate and move to SLC,UT.
I have so much student loans to pay and so many worries. What if I don't get a job? What if I can't make ends meet?
All these horrible unknowns :(

3. I'm biology/english. Both B.A. degrees |
|
I've seen a lot of jobs for lab positions that I'm qualified/over-qualified for, and with my strong English background, I don't see why anyone hasn't even *contacted me*

well you are in an interesting part of the country for biology. i'm assuming your are looking at opportunities at the U of U.
SLC is interesting as there really isn't a huge business draw (think biotech here in MA) where there is a HUB of a certain research type.
I worked for Amex when I was out there (one of the largest employers).
Since the Mormons don't believe in Biology your fucked there :sarcasm:

There's a ton of companies there. I am looking at the U of U for further educational goals, but not this year.
I'm kinda in limbo because I decided to focus on moving there and *then* get certified to teach with a goal of starting teaching next school year.
Oh yeah. Mormons <3 biologists--especially evolutionary biologists like me!

7. if it makes you feel better |

I'm in the same boat; I graduate June 10th. Not a sniff at a job, rejected from grad school (due to my procrastination, not lack of grades). I DO have an apartment, for cheap, so I'll be alright working retail or something until I can go to school next year. Hang in there; if all else fails, become a drug dealer :hi:
