Fargo and True Lies
Any other movies with notably humorous used car salesman? Pill Paxton in Ahnold's True Lies played the used car salesman who pretended to be a spy to pickup women.

And of course, William H. Macy in Fargo trying to extort some money out of the FIL decides it would be smart to have his wife kidnapped.

Any others? I have a buddy who manages a lot and and he loves the characters in both films.

1. Robin Williams in "Cadillac Man"
I vaguely remember the movie, but I think he was pretty funny in it. Tim Robbins was really young.

3. Wasn't Kurt Russell in a movie called "Used Cars"? I never saw it, so I
couldn't attest to the quality.

4. Never saw it but I thought of another one
The main character's father in Breaking Away.

"Refund? Refund?"

"I had a dream last night that everyone I ever sold a car to came back and there you were, handing them back their money!"

8. One of my favorite comedies ever
And one of Kurt Russell's best performances ever. He's just hilarious. Directed by Bob ("Back to the Future") Zemeckis.

Rent it. I swear you won't be disappointed.

9. Thanks for the rec. It looked like fun, so I will see it. If you like Kurt, you OWE it to yourself
to see "Big Trouble in Little China" if you haven't. Hell, just go get the DVD. Hilarious and holds up very well today.

10. "Big Trouble" is a great movie
I'm a big Kurt Russell fan, and that is another one of the movies that caught him at the top of his game. And I agree, it's still great entertainment today.

NOBODY plays the sarky, smarmy, whacky tough guy like Kurt Russell. He's almost the gold standard for that kind of character.

5. I usually can't watch movies with a lot of violence.
Why can I watch Fargo over and over again, and bust a gut laughing? I love the Jerry Lundegaard character in that movie.

"Well, heck, if you wanna play games here! I'm workin' with ya on this thing, but I... Okay, I'll do a damned lot count!"

7. Made in America and Mathilda--especially Mathilda.
Made in America stars Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg. Not a great film, but good enough.

Mathilda is based on Raould Dahl's novel. Danny Devito is the used car salesman father of Mathilda. Great kid or family film. A bit darker than the average family film, but you could guess that by the author. :)
