Eragon the Movie. Did anyone see it? |
|
I tried to read the books but gave them away. I thought the movies was a real rip off of two other stories.
Sword of Shanara and Lord of The Rings
I was glad it was over

1. Shanarra was a rip off of LOTR anyway |
|
and from what my daughter tells me, the movie left out some major parts of the story from the book.

2. My oldest daughter liked the book, so we rented the movie.. |
|
Big disappointment. I never read the book myself, but in the movie, the writing was banal, the plot was predictable, and they never developed any of the characters enough so that I really gave shit what happened to them.

3. The books were junk. The movie was crap. |
|
Not even craptacular in a "this is so bad, it's entertaining" way. It was just boring as hell.
It's not a rip off of Lord of the Rings. It's a rip off of rip offs of Lord of the Rings. It rips of Shannara, Pern, Dragonlance, the Belgariad, and all sorts of other series that derived in some manner from LOTR.
I'm pretty easily amused, but the book and the movie were utter wastes of time.
