4. Oh Mine Too! I Have A Personalized Autographed Photo From Angelica Houston |

<SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER>
...in response to a letter that I wrote to her letting her know how much I loved seeing her performance as Lily in The Grifters.
My two favorite scenes are when Lily is panicking with Bobo and the oranges... and the other is where Lily is trying to get the money from her son, and ends up killing him. The way she played grief and panic and the urgency of needing to get away and knowing that she didn't even have time to call an ambulance. Just amazing.
My heart races every time I see her... it gives me goose bumps watching her. She plays it so well.
Her personalized autograph is one of my most prized possessions.

5. I Agree-Her Performance Deserved An Oscar |
|
Especially the last scene where she kills Roy. There was something in her grief that was like a Greek tragedian. But her instinct takes over and she makes a run for it.
She is a great actress-how gracious of her to send you a picture!

I agree with the Annette comment. She was also good in American Beauty.

10. I think she was playing herself in American Beauty! |
|
I think she's one of those actresses who really needs a good director to get a decent performance out of her. She can be very shallow.
Anyway, both those movies had great directors.

Anjelica Huston slays me in that film. I would not mind one bit being run by Lily.... rowr!

and am limited in my knowledge of great directors & films. I'm only lucky to have stumbled upon a few good films.
So you'd recommend anything by P. Almovodar?

15. Hey, what about John Cusack? |
|
I loved him in that picture and he's a Bush basher. Few years back when the Chicago Bulls were on their four year streak, John and a male friend sat right behind my husband and I. He was a big Bulls fan and it was during the playoffs - so many would sneak up and ask for his autograph and he was so kind, pleasant to everyone, yet I knew he would have preferred being left alone to enjoy the game. At least I waited till after the game to bother him - my husband took a great picture of us. All in all, he's a great guy and a great actor and so wonderful in the Grifters, which is one of my all time favorites too.

16. Pretty much anything by Pedro is fun, but you should start with |
|
these:
Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown Matador All About My Mother High Heels
These, I believe, are his best.
Apparently he has a new one out that hasn't made it over to this country yet.
