I haven't posted in GD2004 in a week and I'm a happy man. |
|
I really don't care what happens in there. I've made my choice, and will support WHOEVER gets the nomination, whether it's the candidate I want or not. I'm sticking to GD, the Lounge, and all the other forums, but GD 2004 is a cesspool of iniquity. I didn't know liberals were capable of such hatred, especially of each other.
I wish to say to all the people currently fighting the candy-date wars in GD 2004: WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER.
Now, who's up for some fresh air...and cookies!?

If you read a thread before it has more than ten posts on it. I was just punching 'Latest' threads over the weekend, so some of them were in GD:2004, and there was a lot of positive stuff, as long as it was the candidate's supporters, unaffiliated people -- and usually Kucinich people, who often are civil as long as the post isn't about slamming DK -- posting. As soon as anybody else came in, though, the threads were demolished. By the time they have fifteen posts, they're not worth reading anymore.

8. Nope, that post has 285 replies. |
|
And eeryone's repeating the same arguments over and over based on their candidate preference, rather on the substance of the issue at hand. 'S kinda stupid. Dean's not a racist, and Sharpton's got a point...so now what?

There hasn't been a single piece of constructive advice in that thread or in ANY of th' threads in GD2004 in SO long, it's frustrating. and time-wasting. Like listening to a Clear Channel station: same shit everyday, in different running order.
It's like this: Okay, now we know Candidate X has problems. Now, what do we do to solve the problems? Or do we just wanna bitch about the candidates?
It's gotten so bad, I read Skinner's new note tonight and almost cried. Please people, WE'RE IN THE SAME BOAT! Don't capsize us, okay?

a legitimate news item to be gleaned. But I'm Switzerland, baby...Neutral, lukewarm, etc. Blah blah, Dean's a racist, blah blah Clark's a repub, balh blah Kerry is an elitist, etc etc. Nope. Sorry, don't care. I can't get worked up enough to actually PUT DOWN a potential leader of my team. I mean, we're all on the same side, right?
BTW, I like ALL the candidates; the only dude in the race I do not like is Bush. (And Lieberman, but c'mon, he's mildew anyways.)

I never go in there anymore either. I'll wait until the Dem unity is back ... which it will be as soon as the nomination is decided.
