This is just the worst Spring! |
|
What a dirty joke! It's 50 degrees in NH right now and we are supposed to get a half a foot of snow tonight. All day I have been watching the snow melt and I'm finally been seeing earth and grass... I have to remind myself why I love New England!

The past four nights were below freezing in NC, the coldest it has ever been in April since they started to keep record.
Our winter was milder than our spring.

3. I spent Easter week end |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-11-07 03:42 PM by JitterbugPerfume
in Grand Rapids with my son .It looked more like Christmas than Easter with all of the snow. The Meijers Gardens Butterfly festival was also kind of "blah" . it seemed like even the insects in a closed , controlled environment knew it was just not RIGHT. They mostly just sat around with their wings closed:shrug:

4. Seven months of snow in our yard. |
|
And it's snowed every night since Friday. I'm dreading the removal of seven months of dog poop.

We've got more snow in April than in December. What sucks is that we are in the middle of mud season and the plows are tearing up our lawns. We didn't have any snow for Chrismas and had to shovel out for Easter. Just crazy!

6. April is the Cruelest Month |
|
We tend to forget this from time to time.
My grandmother always said - If you can't take the Maine winters, you don't deserve the Maine summers.
July will be hot and it's not that far away...hang in there...

10. It's been the same here in western, NY |

Very cold, miserable springs, that are much more like winter. By the end of May the switch flips to mid 80's. Winter right into summer. We've had at least 10 days of cold, crappy weather with a little snow every day. :banghead:

Nov, Dec and the first two weeks of Jan! I am not even going to bother planting vegetables this year if this weather doesn't break. My tomatoes rotted on the vine last year! So tired of being disappointed by no fresh veggies!! :( Even my roses have had black spot for the last three years and the buds are so small because the leaves all fall off. ugh! I think I'll join you :banghead:

My orchard will bear no fruit this year, and I'm praying that I don't lose any trees or plants. Many vineyards around here are losing their plants, since the sap had already risen, infusing water into the woody part of the plant. Add a hard freeze and the plants split and die. So far that hasn't happened to me, but we're not out of the woods yet. Back down to freezing tonight and over the weekend. After that I think I'll catch a break.
