Edited on Tue Jan-13-04 11:54 AM by Cannikin

2. I had a dream about the "Lardassians" last night
I was at a party hosted by one of them who was named Butterneck. Looked a bit like Rush Limbaugh before he lost weight.

There were lots of beautiful human women there, but they all knew that I had once performed the song You Are My Sunshine by vomiting it.

9. I vote for the Daleks

I know - wrong series

Encased in their pepperpot-shaped travel machines, each Dalek is a mutant monstrosity from the planet Skaro. They are one of the Galaxy's most fearsome races, with no thoughts other than that of conquest. The Daleks consider themselves the most superior race in the Universe. Humanity and all of the other species in the Galaxy may be permitted to live as their slaves - but that which they cannot subjugate they will destroy.

They're Ferengi, all right. Slmiy, greedy, grubby, sexually exploitive perverts that all decent people abhor.

14. Id say Cardassian
Their political system and government are quite similiar (oppresive). Like how you can get arrested and not know the charges until the trial, which the verdict is already decided.

OF course, I can see the argument for Ferengi... absolute greed, unregulated capitalism, oppress females.

Simple reason: even the Ferengi play by the rules (of acquisition).

For Republicans, there are no rules. Well, there are rules - for everyone else.

23. oh, alien species?
Ferengi definitely. Might I point out that in H G Wells' original book the Morlocks are descendants of the downtrodden working class who by sheer irony now feast on the privileged elite who have become pretty useless parasites preserving the veneer of civilization?

What the movies did in the fifties(Red Scare) and in the latest version is obliterate all social commentary pertaining to this and substitute the calamity du jour to remove socialist comments about the trends. At least in the older version there was an anti-war message Wells also preached. The newer version turned it into a navel-gazing personal journey for the inventor with a natural disaster creating the odd challenging new world. never a question of bringing a moral message back to our time. None at all.

Such is the decline of our civilization marked by our current easy editing.

Male lions as they really are. Termites.I don't think they are up to simian standards, barely in the class of nurturing mammals or socially cooperative species.

This is what intelligence abuse and desertion of higher human functions gets you. You can't even go back to the slug to recapture dignity.

24. They have the greed and lack of intellectual curiosity of the ferengi
Edited on Tue Jan-13-04 12:11 PM by Rabrrrrrr
and wuold like to think of themselves as believing in individual freedom, but that in respect - personal freedom - they are very Borg-like, in that they believe that individual freedom means the right to be just like their leaders tell them to be.

But they also have some of the jack-booted thug mentality of the Cardassians.

They have the warmongering desire of the Klingons, except they have the cowardice of the Ferengi, and so they really aren't warriors at all; they're the "bring 'em on!" kind of warriors who send others to fight their battles.

SOteric and others had it good about republicans being like the black ooze that killed Yar.

So maybe it should be - the greed and cowardice of the ferengi, the group-hive mentality of the borg, the petty thugness and vindictiveness and hatred of those who are different of the Cardassians, the war-glorifying attitude of the Klingons (but tempered with that Ferengi cowardice, don't forget) and the abject cruelty and hatred of the black ooze.

There are some that can wax poetic about the free market and will so anything to monetarily screw an orphanage.

The rest... well they seem like they're just zombies lacking in thought processes, with a need to take over the mind of everyone in the world, much like the Borg.

And they eat small mammals.

39. frengi are too free market, the borg mentality fits the GOP like a glove
when i look at bush, cheney and delay i see borg, not free wheeling captialist ferengi.

ferengi want as few laws as possible so as to be able to accumulate wealth, the GOP has a hideous mutant beast of an economc philosophy grafting a little adam smith, social darwinism, hobbesian bleakness, a touch of keynes just for spice, and selective moralities from the bible to hide their whoring ways.

the GOP makes the ferengi look like DLC.

They control and manipulate their armies, sent them to die with no care or concern.

They think all others are inferior.

They have a greed for land and space.

Casualty counts of any group dont matter to them, except, their own kind.

Meanwhile... they live rich lives in the link
