Treadmill automatic "Fit Test" -- do you know what these results mean? |
|
"1/02 = 21.5 very low" -- on the display after taking the test
Any idea what this means? Other than the obvious: poor physical fitness.

1. is that a Vo2 max reading? |
|
if so anything in the 30's is considered average, however it varies depending on age and gender http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/VO2max.html

I took one of those Vo2 Max tests in a lab setting when I was in college. We had to do it for an exercise physiology class, it was one of the most exhausting things I've ever done. Although it didn't help that I was terribly out of shape, had a head cold and a hangover and it was 8am! We even had to wear this stupid face mask to get the readings which made it almost impossible to breathe normally. I forget what my score was, but I wasn't happy with it.
