Nor'easter? What nor'easter? |

We (NJ) were supposed to be getting winds gushing up to 50 mph, torrential rain buckets, trees uprooted and flying around like projectiles, etc.
But the wind is traveling no more than 5 mph, and it's really just been a steady, but not heavy, rain fall.

that, once again, the part of my brain that is apparently a twelve-year-old boy misread the title of your post. Glad you included the (NJ) to clue in the relatively sensible 21-year-old female I really am...lol.

I'm glad you pointed that out. That was dumb on my part. (I'll change the title).

4. Unfortunately, the MSM has a tendency to inflate every strong |
|
weather system into another blizzard of '88 (1888, that is). Here in Wisconsin last Wednesday we got seven inches of snow; an inconvenience, but from the TV reports you'd think we were one step from total disaster.

6. Not only do they sensationalize the bad weather, but the bobble-headed idiots |
|
who run our local news in Colorado Springs seem to think that everybody wants sunny, perfect weather all the time. Thus, they smile like fools and talk about how nice the weather is even when it's 72 in March. If it rains in the summer, they act like it's a crime against humanity. Their broken-record reactions to the weather really get on my nerves. With the internet and all I don't know why anybody watches them anymore.

7. They do that here in CT, too |

If we had gotten that snow, it would have been labeled as something like "Death Storm 2007" or "Killer Spring Snow" or "April Armageddon" or similar
A few months ago, we got a light coating of snow and the weather forecasting folks were all worked up over how the lines on the highways were covered and it was now deathly dangerous to change lanes because these lines were now obscured. I wish I was joking about that. Every 10 minutes, the weather forecast would include that ominous warning about how one was taking their life into their own hands if they attempted to change lanes... (ok, that last sentence is a slight exaggeration)
