I did not get an interview for a job I wanted because I lack supervisory experience |
|
So how do I get that experience with a job in which I do not supervise anyone (except the occasional intern or volunteer, which apparently does not count). I am completely disheartened and discouraged, so much so that I spent almost all day fighting back tears. I hope no one noticed.
I have been with my current employer almost 10 years. It is very hard but I think I need to leave them. They do not recognize my potential and I am running out of time to start over somewhere else. I hope there are employers out there who will appreciate the skills I have. Or maybe I am fooling myself; maybe I am not as good as I think I am.
I have to do something though; this dead-end job I have is sucking the life right out of me.

I did not get interviews for a few hundred jobs I wanted (and another few hundred I would have been glad to have) because I'm over 45.

4. I thought that was illegal |
|
I suppose you'd have to prove it though. I am not that fat behind so I might have to deal with that one day soon.

I work at a place where if you aren't a nurse, you don't usually get promoted
it took a long time and the right situation and the right boss to put me in a position now where I will have that on my resume
You may need to leave, but don't think you can't start over... that's always possible alarimer

5. I met all the qualifications they asked for on the announcement |
|
I think I might file a complaint with HR or maybe even hire a lawyer.
The funny thing is, I should be relieved because I didn't want to move there (Brownsville) so my plan was, if I got the job, to stay just a couple of years. I would not have mentioned that to anyone.
