Ack!! My medical insurance kicks in on the 1st |
|
And it seems my gallbladder is not going to wait. I'm exhausted, nauseous and in a lot of pain. I hope I can wait until the 1st, otherwise it becomes a pre-existing condition and it won't be covered. (I haven't had medical insurance for 17 months now.)

1. But if it becomes acute |
|
I think that they would have to cover any surgery to remove it, also if you haven't been to the doctor in the last 12 months about it I am not sure that it will also not be covered. I had the same thing with my AFLAC after I had my Gastric Banding surgery they wouldn't pay my time out of work because I had seen my doctor 364 days before my insurance started so it was a pre-existing condition. I told the rep that if being fat is a pre-existing condition that is a rather dangerous precident to set in this country.

2. I haven't been to a doctor for this - ever |
|
I just don't want to jeopardize coverage because deep down, I know where this is going. I feel so bad...

3. Call someone... Don't tell them your name.. |
|
See what the insurance agency and doctor have to say. At least try.

If there is no medical record of this anywhere it isn't considered a "pre-existing condition." As a nurse we are told all the time that if you don't write it down, it didn't happen.

4. Have you tried less fat intake? |
|
My younger sister got her gall bladder to cooperate with her by changing her diet to, basically, no-fat (well, nothing over 2g). Her hair became a little brittle..and her skin dry...since she stayed on that kind of diet for a year (which, obviously, is a long time). Oh, and she never did need gall bladder surgery-- even though she started eating a higher amount of fat, after that period in time. It might work for you...I don't know...of course this is not medical advice!
Hope you feel better soon!

6. I'm down to hardly any fat |
|
I talked to someone here and she's going to talk to the partners about backdating my insurance coverage. It's amazing working for a company who's owners believe int doing the right thing. It could be gastritis, but this is too intense and I'm even light-headed.
Not good...not good at all.
UPDATE - they're adding me to the insurance effective TODAY. OMG...

..be careful. Do you have someone to take you? You definitely shouldn't be driving if you are light-headed!
