College kids: have you registered for fall classes?
If so, what are you taking?

I'm taking:
Deciding What's News
Rhetorical Criticism
Advanced Writing: Businesses and Organizations (sounds terribly exciting) :P
I also need to weasel my way into Interpersonal Communication Theory, because it's full.

7. Indeed.
I'll also have a one-credit TA-type position and possibly a one-credit law review position. I may or may not be working.

It shouldn't be too bad -- no classes on Fridays, and no more than 3 classes per day (only 2 on T/TR), and no night classes.

8. Oooh!
Is it sick that I think those sound like fun? LOL

I'm beginning to think that law school is like childbirth, you forget how painful it is.

But seriously...

Trusts & Estates is easy, it's pretty intuitive and there are some truly interesting cases, particularly if you have a morbid sense of humor.

Evidence sucks the big one. Not gonna lie. ;)

I never took ADR, but all of my friends who did said it was their favorite law school class...so that bodes well.

Criminal process is MEH. Somewhat interesting, mostly boring.

Law & Religion sounds particularly interesting. Though it also sounds like one of those classes that could be either pure hell or actually informative, entirely depending on what the prof is like.

Good luck!

18. Thanks! I have the best Evidence prof in the state, according to everyone here, so that should be
good...T&E is with my current Property prof and he's a great gentleman in his mid-70s(!) who teaches because he loves it.

I'm taking criminal process because it's a prerequisite for restorative justice, which I really really want to take.

Should be fun. I actually like law school, and am looking forward to some electives.

19. My T&E prof was the same way
Well, maybe in his mid 60s, lol. But a great guy who loved to teach. That's probably why I liked the class so much.

My Evidence "professor" on the other hand, was a still-practicing, high-powered attorney who couldn't teach to save his life. Knew his stuff, obviously, but absolutely couldn't figure out how to convey it. x(

Registering for classes was hell, many of the classes that I need to take were not being offered plus the University lost my file:mad:. But now I need to file for Financial Aid.

10. I can relate- registration is horrid.
I'm a senior, but I STILL end up registering after most of the classes I want are full (particularly since I try to take all night classes).

When I initially registered, I could only get into ONE class.
I got another added as an INI (Individualized Instruction) class, and a third added, because the professor knows me and will let me into her classes. I'm still waiting to get into the fourth.
I had to beg my way into all but one of my classes, this last semester, the other I got into off a waitlist.

Ouch. Just tackled that one last fall. Not hard, necessarily, but agonizingly boring if you're not into statistics.

11. Taking the year off...
We're in a financial bind, so i'm taking a year off school to fix that.

Oktoberain will be starting her freshman year, though. We're both pretty excited about that, and i think she's going to end up with the English department collectively having an intellectual crush on her, after they get a look at her body of poetic work.

I hope you're able to return soon; I'm pissed that we're getting yet another nasty tuition hike, at my school.

27. so is WVU... 5%... again.
It just went up last year, too...

And yeah, i'll be able to go back no later than 2009, but Oktoberain deserves for her first year to be about nothing but her and her studies.
