Let me tell you about my boss! |
|
My boss is my partner in our business. He's not really my "boss" because we halve all of the income from the business and we pay half of the expenses each. We are partners in all, except for my attitude towards him. I've worked for him for eighteen years, off and on, and he will always be the "boss" to me. He's forgotten more than I will ever learn about our business. And he is my friend. Truly, my friend. I guess you would say that he's my mentor.
When my credit was bad, he co-signed loans for me. When I wanted to buy something big, he made the deals for me (he is extremely good at this), and saved me tons of money. He'll blast anyone out of the solar system if they say anything bad about me. And, I learn from him, every day. I ask his advice whenever I'm about to make a move in our business, and I often take it. And I work like a demon. I enjoy working (I'm a bit of a workaholic) and taking on new projects to make our company grow and become more efficient. I like to think that I have a vision. And he has the experience and the good business sense, to implement that vision. We make a formidable team.
I love the people that work for us and besides making sure that they make a lot of money, I like to think that someday I'll be as good a boss to them as my boss has been to me. I've got a hell of a long way to go, though.

4. Th1onein refers to a protein that I study. |
|
It's actually the form of metallothionein before metal ions are attached to it.
But, yeah, I'm a lucky woman in some ways.

To be able to work with people like that is a humongous gift. Thanks for sharing something good on a Friday. :-)

8. As a matter of fact, he IS single. |
|
Sadly, because she was such a fine woman, and he misses her very much, his wife of 37 years passed away December before last. She was a sweetie pie. The doctors all recommended to him that he put her in a nursing home, years before she died. But he nursed her at home for over six years, before he finally lost her. He's one of the finest human beings I've ever known.
I don't think he'll ever get married again, but I hope he does, if it will make him happy.
