Do you think that you have a part in creating the world around you?
I do. I think that the way that you treat people in your life creates the world around you. I live my life, both business and personal, with love. It changes things, I can tell you.
It takes time, but it changes things.

4. Lighten up a bit
It's not about having superpowers and changing the physical universe.

It is about perception of the universe and frames of reference.

We see in each event what we chose to see and ignore the rest.

To quote Sir James Burke, "If the universe is what we say it is, then say".

7. I prefer to live with a chip on my shoulder...
to lash out at those who find a sense of peace in life because I believe they're living a daydream.

I cannot conceptualize the pain in my life so that I can deal with it and move on, so I must project that pain onto other people, making them miserable.

And of course, everything I'm typing here this evening is pure :sarcasm:

18. What a wonderful thought!
Thank you so much for that quote: "If the universe is what we say it is, then say."

I will remember that.

17. Do you think that it is arrogant to just decide to love everything and
everyone that you come across? I think that it is a good decision and that it makes your life good and full.

I think that it is silly to think that love conquers all. Stupid. But to attempt to live your life in love of all things and of all people, is a different thing.

I have been hurt very badly; I have had a child die. Right in front of me. I know that bad things can happen to good people. And I am very, very angry about that.

I am angry about all of the injustices in the world. But I consider it my duty, as a human being, to fight them. All of them. As best I can.

But the other side of that coin is to put some good into this world. To love your fellow man, and to help him or her.

I do not imagine that I am the only one who lives for love and for beauty. But I would like to be one of the people who tells others that it is not wrong to do so. And that I have found it to be a wonderful and fulfilling part of my life.

5. Yes, None Of Us Live In A Vacuum
so we all have an affect on everything and everyone.

every moment what we do affects our life, and what we reap is the result of what we have sown.

That said, we don't have to be perfect because there are infinite possible outcomes and we deal with what we choose to some extent.

Love is the glue that makes the world livable. Hate is the solvent that breaks it apart.

Cool post Th1onein!

9. Yes, of course.
If you have a home, and you landscape it to please the eye, and tend it well, it becomes a pleasant sight for all who see it.

Though often less visibly tangible, if you treat the people around you with warmth and kindness and affection, they feel that, and it helps to soothe whatever cruelties and sorrows other aspects of life have inflicted on them. Thus making it easier for them to be warm and kind to others in turn.

:hi: my pleasant and inspiring friend

19. My daughter says that I "spoil" everyone around me, even the dog.
Hmmmmm.... I know I go a bit overboard, sometimes. But I just get a hell of a kick out of it.

You know, if you can make someone's life easier, it really is a blessing. Especially when you've been where they are at and you can kick a "touchdown" because you know what will make their life easier, because you've been there.

I just get one hell of a kick out of doing stuff like that. It makes me happy.

In fact, I'm thrilled.

21. That's not possible.
You can't spoil a dog, because all they really want is all your attention, all the time. And they're worth that, because they'll give it all right back, and then some. :D

It is a wonderful feeling to be able to do something for someone that turns out to be 'just what they most need.'

my sister refers to it as "people create their own weather."

I think how you treat others really does affect how you will be treated also. I prefer to work from the POV of understanding and empathy. Don't always get it back, though. Ah well, such is life, and we carry on. :-)

20. It is very powerful, my friend.
Plus, while you are practicing "what you preach," you can have one hell of a good time.

I am so happy right now. So fulfilled.

And it is strange how that works. My partner just scored a really big account for our firm. Maybe that doesn't have anything to do with it, but it's really strange how things come about. You do, indeed, I think, create the world that you live in.

Hoo-ah! Isn't that what they say?

created heaven and the Earth. And somewhere along the way I added people and, man, what a clusterf*** that turned out to be... :eyes:

And, yes, I think we do have a part in creating what's around us. In concrete and in metaphysical terms.

28. Traveler, there are no roads
traveler, it is your footsteps
on the road, and nothing more;
traveler, there are no roads,
you make the roads with your steps.
By walking you make a road
and when you turn around to look
you see a road you will never,
never again step upon.
traveler, there are no roads,
only wakes upon the sea.

- Antonio Machado

Caminante, no hay camino

Caminante son tus huellas
El camino nada más;
caminante no hay camino
se hace camino al andar.
Al andar se hace camino
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino
sino estelas sobre el mar.
