1. When I had a job where I had to work weekends.
Now that I'm not working weekends anymore, Friday night is drinking night again.

9. It's still a big deal to me, just not in the same way it used to be.
I'm just so grateful to have three nights and two whole days before I have to be back at my horrible job that Friday night is like heaven to me. I don't care if all I do is go to the gym and get Thai food, it's still heaven. In terms of going out, when I was in my early 20s and in the prime of my "going out" years, I was in grad school full time, I worked retail full time, and I was broke. So back then Friday night was just the night before my busiest workday of the week. I suppose the last time Friday night was The Going Out Night was when I was in college.

13. Never occurred to me Fri meant something
My parents were terribly overprotective so Friday night going out was meaningless, even while I was in college (still lived at home). Once I moved out, partying was a foreign concept.

14. I'm 43 and it STILL is a big deal although for a different reason.
It means (at least every other week) that I can sleep in past 3:30am. Imagine that, used to be I looked forward to the Friday night party now its the Saturday morning sleep in.

26. When I became a professional drunkard
Friday nights just didn't mean the same thing. I was probably 22 or 23 back in the eighties when st. ronnie killed the economy here and my fiancee killed my heart, there wasn't anything else to do but to get drunk and stay that way.
Since then, I've sobered up, but now I'm too old for it to mean anything.

36. Friday nights ARE a big deal!!!
I don't go out, but they mean I can sleep as long as I want the next two days. As wiped out as I am by the end of the week from a very stressful workplace, that extra sleep is badly needed.
