These are from the St. Mary of the Woods Earth Day Festival. For more info- They had a hawk/falcon show:


This is a Red-Tailed Hawk. Really beautiful bird. There's a lot of them around here right now.


American Kestrel. One of the smaller falcons. Throughout the presentation it kept bobbing its head to triangulate vision.


Harris Hawk. He didn't seem to want to move around much today.


Here's a Peregrine Falcon showing off its wings.


Another one of the Peregrine.


They also had a petting zoo. Here's a little kid, and a guy with a cigarette.


They also had some alpacas, who all looked condescending.

A great time, and lots of sunburn to go around!

2. We enjoyed it! It was a good day.

And it included OUTSTANDING lamb bratwurst that was out of this world! We wore ourselves out in short order, and cancelled our mushroom hunting plans and passed out when we got home.

A woman was wearing a "Stop the War in Iraq" t-shirt and we stopped to talk to her. She gave us some info about a stop-the-war campaign in our town, which is nice to hear especially since we're relatively new here.
