Southwest passenger to Paula Abdul: "You're no Sanjaya!"
Edited on Sun Apr-22-07 01:45 PM by Seabiscuit
"American Idol" judge Paula Abdul reportedly threw a "diva-like" tantrum while boarding an airplane recently, telling fellow passengers she was "too famous" to stand in line. Abdul was boarding a Southwest Airlines flight from San Jose to Burbank, Calif., when she reportedly demanded to be given special treatment and board the aircraft first. Eyewitnesses claim the star pushed her way to the front of a line of waiting passengers as one disgruntled commuter shouted, "You're no Sanjaya! You have to board like everyone else."A source tells MSNBC.com's the Scoop, "She pulled a major diva trip. The other passengers were not amused. She asked to be let on the plane and seated first...."

2. I really hate that celebrity attitude
The one that says they're better than anyone else and so deserve to get special treatment. Just because someone makes a lot more money than I do doesn't make 'em better and it sure as hell doesn't make them smarter.

Shit, probably no one would even recognize her if she wasn't screaming, "I'm Paula Abdul and I deserve to be boarded first!"

3. Hint to Paula: If you're traveling on Southwest, you're no celebrity
Get in line.

5. Note to Paula: You want to be first in line,
cough up the money to buy a first-class ticket on an airline that has first-class seating. Fly Southwest, you're gonna stand in line with everybody else. Sucks to be you.

7. Who?
The only part of her you won't find on the 'net is the In Living Color parody of her made in 1990 - her heyday.

If it wasn't for how well she's aged, she wouldn't be there at all. TV, as Sanjaya proved, is solely about appearance. Not content.

9. Reminds me of a story that has circulated the ailine business for years
In the midst of weather related flight cancellations, there was a long line of customers at a gate desk, all trying to get on one of the few flights that was still scheduled to go. A man pushed his way to the front of the line and shouted at the agent, "You need to help me. I HAVE to be on this flight!" The agent politely told the man she would be happy to help him after she had taken care of the customers ahead of him in line. The man glared at her and said, "Do you have any idea who I am?"

The agent calmly picked up the public address handset and made the following announcement: "Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please. We have a customer at the desk who does not know who he is. If there is anyone in the gate area that may be able to help him determine his identity, please step up to the desk."

Amid all the laughter, the man extended his middle finger and said "f%$# you."

The agent smiled and said, "I'm sorry sir, but you'll have to stand in line for that too."

The story has become urban legend. If it isn't true, it should be!

12. Rule of thumb: You fly Southwest, you stand in line like the rest of us.
This isn't Emirates or Virgin Atlantic, they don't offer six-star service. Hey Paula, if you fly Southwest, don't complain about having to wait in line, or you will get your ass beat down every time.
