1. Crikey - pretty obvious that list is by reader's votes.
Lots of movies that don't deserve to be on that list, even though I like them a lot.

:eyes:

America is stoopid.

7. Looks good. Except for Casablanca.
Most over-rated movie ever.

Also, I hated the movie version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Maybe because I read the far superior novel.

I also think Peter Jackson's King Kong should be on there.

Should the Star Wars movies be in the top 20? I mean, come ON. I like Star Wars, but they bumped Citizen Kane for those?

While we're talking about imdb's top 250, I have to ask a question about the bottom 100: why is it that a great deal of them are modern, predominantly African-American cast movies (Stomp the Yard, Crossover, Pride, Are We Done Yet?, In the Mix, Daddys Little Girls, etc.)? I mean, granted, they aren't Oscar winners by any stretch of the word, but I don't think they belong in the depths with truly horrid films such as Son of the Mask, Bottoms Up, Manos: Hands of Fate or Santa with Muscles. This sort of pattern seems to be recurring far too often to be coincidental. You think it speaks of imdb's flourishing racist freeper contingent or am I just reading too deep?

10. They probably run a query on the database to see what movies get the most hits or votes.
Same with the bottom. Why fuck around when you can make a dynamic page in 20 lines of code?

22. Or
Maybe Hollywood's desire to make a quick buck by churning out a piece of shit movie with a bunch of black actors and actresses in it to make a quick buck. Such movies require very little money to make and will at least turn a profit. Or, most likely, a mix of the two, given that movie boards are rife with the not-quite-admitted racist types.

Put me in front of a television with #1, "The Godfather" on then turn off the volume. I can quote the entire movie word for word.

30. I haven't seen 6 of them
Shawshank (every time it's on TV, it's like 10-15 minutes into the movie and I refuse to watch what is supposed to be a great movie if I can't watch it from the start)

Casablanca - I think I've seen most of it in pieces, but not the whole thing from start to finish.

7 Samurai - I've only seen parts of the American remake - The Magnificent 7 - and, then only parts.

Rear Window - only bits & pieces.

City of God - nope.

Usual Suspects - another one like Shawshank.
