Jesus K. Christ. All I can do is laugh. I have strep throat AGAIN!
I just finished antibiotics for strep A WEEK AGO, and I HAVE IT AGAIN!

It took two rounds of meds to get rid of the secondary infection caused by the antibiotics I was on, last time, and now I have the damn strep back!

Who's been sending me the leper vibes?!1!!!11

20. My Mom said she'd take the kids over to her house, if I want.
They can hang with my parents for part of the weekend.
Hubby's not much of a "caretaker," anyway (of adults, he's fine with kids.)

12. Eat acidophilus capusles like they're M&Ms.
Please. Stave off that secondary infection. I just finished five weeks of antibiotics, and I ate acidophilus capsules all day long - never saw that secondary infection. Antifungals make my tummy ache.

You can also put them in your * or use as an external powder in order to prevent *. ;)

is that now I have to worry about my kids getting it, for the next ten days.

I blew all over Jack's dinner last night before he ate it, because it was hot.

27. What ever you do DO NOT STOP your antibiotics
Strep infections can be extremely serious. I am not entirely surprised to hear its back, they can be serious. You can eat acidophilus all day long if you wish, but its the antibiotics that you really need and it can be a life threatening condition if not controlled. Even if you feel better take all your pills. Please!

I finished all of my penicillin, last time. The Dr thought one of my kids probably reinfected me.

34. I got it diagnosed more quickly this time.
Last time, I had it for five days before I got on antibiotics. I think it's odd, as well, that I wasn't immune to it, this time. I guess my immune system is temporarily in the crapper.

45. yeah that's a rapid test
just looking to identify the bacteria

culture and sensitivity would tell what would kill it

of course the antibiotics around are prolly potent enough and it will be fine i just get a little annoyed at the handing out of antibiotics too often, not your situation, but making sure they have something that will kill the little streppers would make you and seriously everyone around you happy.

So much is resistant to Penicillin now. :(

Anyway, same advice as everyone. Take the full course, use acidophillus, ya da ya da.

I went through the same thing a year ago with a nasty, resistant bronchitis.

47. Maybe it is the same infection--resistant to antibiotics.
I dunno--seems to me that maybe you never got rid of it the first time. There are more and more bacteria out there that are resistant to specific antibiotics. I had a throat infection one time that actually got worse after I went on antibiotics. It turned out it was resistant to the stuff they'd given me originally.

I'm not a doc--but it might be worth considering.
