is there a way to block messages from being sent to your cellphone?
I don't want to pay $.10 just because a friend sends a message

1. It depends on what service you have...
I can block messages on mine.

8. I lost two cellphones that way
withing months of each other because I insisted on using the belt clip. I don't use the belt clip anymore.

6. It should.
My daughter (she's 15) is on her dad's Cingular plan and deletes them all the time. She only gets so many text messages a month to use and after that, she'll get busted by daddy. :D
