Saw the "ex" for the first time since July.
His back was to me as I entered the room. I gave him a pat on the shoulder and moved on. Finished my drink and left the bar where the once "love of my life" was lurking somewhere in a corner. Didn't even try to find you.

My feelings are: I'm proud for not falling apart. I'm happy because although I'm thinking of it now, I didn't dwell on it all night and finally, I realize I simply don't love him any more and the fact that he feels the same way is not like a knife to my heart.

He will not be my first thought when I wake tomorrow morning. It's... a miracle.

3. SA.
I knew the shape of him and all of the rest of it. I finished my drink and left telling Maineiac that I might bring it up again once I'd had another drink or two.

The overwhelming sensation is surprise. Sure I'm sad because I'm alone and he's not, but... I don't want him.

I want you! :P

Life goes on. How are you tonight, lovely man?

5. It's right around the corner.
I'm thinking of somebody else. It's a tremendous step which I didn't know I'd taken until tonight.

Thom! I don't care and I can't believe it. Now, to bed before I pass out from shock and surprise.

8. May I horn in?
And congratulate you on your healing process? :hi:

The cliche is that the opposite of love is hate. That's not true; the opposite of love OR hate is indifference.

Once you've reached that stage, the bandages are ready to come off, cos you are almost whole again!

I'm kinda tangled up here meself...that 'mummy wrap' look gets old...
and I don't mean just 'ancient'.:silly:

Life cuts. We heal.

And tho we have never met, it is quite possible, even likely, you will be my first thought in the morning. What's a poor southern boy to do?

19. That's a great milestone
It must feel very liberating. Is it the first time you've seen him since the relationship ended? It's been a year since my last relationship ended and I haven't seen him since. I've dreaded the thought of seeing him about town and even avoided liberal events because I knew he'd be there. When I think about it, it seems really immature to avoid things that I want to do because he'll be there. Amazing how I can be so old but still such a dweeb with stuff like that.

20. Yes, first time and while it surprised me, the biggest surprise
was not being sad, or curious, or angry, or veangeful or anything. You might be surprised the same way when you finally see your ex. Seeing him was actually good because I'd built him up in my memory and the reality was different.

Does dweeb-ness diminish with age? I haven't noticed that.

22. I went through something similar.
My ex was at a bar that I was at. The dumbfuck that wanted to fuck her found out I had dated her for years (and that she was hurt at how our relationship ended). I had said nothing to her that night. He (the dude that wanted to fuck her) called me outside. I grabbed my friend Jesse as we went out back. In the end, I walked away. And we beat the shit out of him.

23. Heh. Seriously?
Well, nobody was injured last night, unless you count me; my knees are ruined from all the dancing.

If you dated her for years it must have been difficult to end it, for one of you, anyway.

And beat my ass to get in her pants.. I am tiny. Jesse is 6'8" and 240 pounds. He thought he would get props for beating my ass. He didn't know he was going to end up fighting two people.
