42 posts to 2000. Ask me anything!!
Edited on Sat Apr-28-07 07:52 AM by Chan790
I'll answer only the first 21 questions though. One to a post.

Edit: Der. I'll answer questions only until I break 2000. It's too early...I'm not thinking yet.

1. Apparently nobody has any questions...
I guess I'll ask myself questions.

"Hey Chan790, do you own a $2-bill?"

Click the one in the middle of the five icons next to your name. It looks like an index card.

16. Status report on the efficient performance of effluent valves
In the absence of catastrophic systemic failure or any noticeable change in systemic effluency, it seems apparent that systemic performance is not adversely effected by the off-lining of any single effluent valve. In so far as pressure remains constant throughout the system and valve bypass measures on 437 holds it remains likely that total systemic performance can continue unabated in so far as valves {430-441} remain in the online positions without bypass measure. Thus the linear status of any one valve is irrelevant as long as system performance is unchanged and effect on the system is non-existent.

For that matter, how did you know that 437 was offline unless you've been snooping where you shouldn't be, datasuspect?

(Is it obvious yet that I have no idea what the question means? I did take 2 years of physics and enough poli. theory courses with names like "systems theory" to be able to BS an answer to nearly anything as long as I can work the word "system" into the answer. As my thesis advisor told me: "If you can't convince them with truth, baffle them with bull-shite." It might bear noting that he works for the Bush administration now.)

17. I'm a switch...
in this as in most things. Tying-up is fun, being tied-up is fun. Forced to choose, I choose the second one.

18. It's a musical instrument.
It is a conical-bore, valved and tenor-voiced brass instrument. Its' name comes from the Greek word euphonos meaning sweet-voiced. It is commonly confused with the baritone horn, which is not tenor-voiced (hence the name) and is cylindrical-bored.

19. I'm not sure...
1.) I'm a rather a failing vegan (if I'm being called one now). I go long stretches of time without dairy and then backslide. In any case, it would be hypocritical to claim to be vegan as I work for the single largest purchaser of milk in the US. (*$s) Though, I do urge customers to try soy, or if not soy fans, then to try organic.

2.) I've never actually claimed to be a vegan, only to be abstaining from animal products. (Always in a current and personal sense...i.e. I am currently not eating cheese or other animal product.)

3.) I went off last week on a meat-eater because they referred to veg(etari)anism as "a choice". This is my one pet peeve as I am not really an animal lover...I'm actually a vegetarian for purely ethical reasons stemming from a conversation I had years ago about the direct human cost of animal-product use. Thus, even though rationally I know it's a anger-based position, referring to eating meat as "a choice" hits me the same way as referring to staging bumfights as "a choice". It's not a choice, it's people-abuse dammit.

You probably deserve the label more than I do. Thus, I confer upon you, tofunut, the title of "Least Preachy Vegan". (Provided that nobody else objects.)

21. Oy oy oy...
That is a well-thought question...so I will answer it as best as possible. Several. Too many to name, in fact.

I've been accused of being one of those "holier-than-thou" liberals who would rather lose elections than see the Democratic Party move towards moderate-centrist. I'm not going to run from the accusation. I disliked Kerry, volunteered for Dean, voted for Nader, hate Hillary, am dissatisfied with the current primary crop and despite serious reservations am supporting Edwards thus far because he's the only one thus far who I don't hit mute the second they appear on my TV. A bunch of weak-kneed lily-livered victims...if this is the best we have to offer as a party, I'm embarrassed.

Where is our liberal hero who will stomp GOPer guts under his strong progressive value-clad feet? I don't want a thoughtful moderate Democrat. I'm done voting for "thoughtful moderate Democrats" in the name of electability...I want a liberal warrior-poet out for blood who will eat John McCain's heart, wear Rudy's skin like a mask and floss with Romney's entrails. (Note to Agent Mike: metaphorically.)

Someone who combines the best traits of all of the following:

*A fighter for the rights of all people like MLK.
*A fearless crusader like RFK.
*A believer in strong social programs like FDR.
*Intellectual like Howard Zinn.
*An liberal-attack-dog like ???. (Shit. I just hit the Achilles heel of this proposed candidate. Does one exist? We as a party lack for "take-no-prisoners" types.)

A candidate like...?

???
