Had a complete physical exam this morning |
|
Overall, I'm very happy with the results. :bounce:
- My blood pressure was 110 over 60 - My cholesterol, while still high at 207, is lower than it was a few years ago - My stress test showed no abnormalities - I have asthma so my lung function was a little low -- it's allergy season  - The only negative is I have to have an Endoscopy for my Hiatal Hernia :scared:

1. I've had the upper endoscopy three times. |

The Versed will make it so you remember nothing but a pleasant, relaxed feeling. It sounds like you're healthy and that's great!

2. Do they do it in a Dr's office? |
|
Because it's Saturday I won't be calling to make the appointment with the specialist until Monday, and I'm just curious.
Can you drive yourself home after the procedure?

It's an outpatient hospital procedure usually, and you must have somebody get you home and, ideally (they say) stay with you until the effect of the meds wears off completely. Apparently some people do crazy things on Versed or similar drugs, and they have no idea they're doing it! I've never had any adverse effect at all.

4. I've had them done at outpatient clinics. |

Wheee, I get to have endoscopies every 2 years!
No, don't do anything until the meds wear off. I *believe* that I feel completely normal on those meds, but I cannot keep even the most basic things in my head. It's better not to be alone for a while afterward.

....for the low down.
I'm not thrilled about having this, but I have had an adhesion in my Esophagus for almost 20 years, and it's about time they take a look at it.
