1. I loved that
They played that satire on my local radio station during the Bush I reign.

2. This must be a new definition of the word 'great'
Because that show sucked. Hard.

4. This'll probably not sway you but here's why I thought it was genius
First off, I never quite GOT South Park; I saw the movie, yeah it was amusing in parts but I dunno...

Anyway, TMB was brilliant because it not only sent up possibly the most absurd administration in this country's history but it was a perfect spoof of the bloated-with-success, way-past-sharkjumping, overly predictable sitcom that we've seen too many of. I think the point of it was to suck, and, call me nuts, but that's why it was so hilarious to me.

6. Some have more highly developed senses of irony than others, I guess
I just reacted to its surface inanity. But after what's their names' experiment with puppet drama, you may be right that they were sending up the form as well as the substance.

Enjoy the show. :)

5. Those who do keep a bit quiet these days
Not for fear of reprisal so much as not wishing to be the laughing stock.

But... then again, I don't have the stomach anymore to peak at freerepublic.com
