*IS* there any pro-Bush music?
I recently completed a satisfying download session collecting over a hundred anti-Bush, anti-war topical songs in all genres: folk, pop, reggae, rap, DJ/mix, rock, etc., etc.

And then I grew curious. "Is there any *pro-Bush* music out there for download?" I mean, in these days of Cakewalk and the Internet, *anyone* can make music at some level of quality, so what are the dead-enders among the 28% doing, artistically, to express their support of Schimpanski and his policies? After all, I remember a lot of jingoistic crap coming out right after 9/11, and a year or so ago there was "Bush Was Right" -- which wasn't terrible, as samizdat music goes.

But what's the situation now?

A vast wasteland. While googling "anti-bush music" will get you millions of hits, "pro-bush music" comes up with about 20 hits, none of which actually link to songs.

This, of course, feeds into every prejudice I have about rightwingers -- uncreative, unfunny, unsharing, etc., etc., but I wonder: Is this a true situation? Do true believers simply not write songs and release them on the Internet?

I'd really like to listen to a selection to get some feel for where these people are coming from, because a song is such a unique focus of expression it requires thought and selectivity, thus filtering out mindless spew of the Hannity-Limbaugh-Coulter type, and might just reveal something interesting or useful.

One can always hope.

1. just look under "cunt-ry"
Artists like Lee Greenwood, Toby Keith, and that annoying woman who sing Shamity's theme song. Charlie Daniels is pro bush as well.

2. But don't those guys expect . . .
To be paid for their work? I can find (recently DID find) hundreds of left-of-center topical tunes where the artists explicitly wanted the music to be free (for obvious reasons).

3. they would never "donate for the cause"
WE have people on the left like David Rovics, a great protest singer. You can find all of his stuff for free at his website, or you can buy it to help him out.
I guess that the RW'ers are like bush as well, capitalism uber alles. They'll sing of their patriotism and to show how much they love Amerika, you gotta buy it- probably at Wally World.

5. I have most of Rovic's music . . .
And I've even paid for some of it.

He's quite a firebrand -- even to the left of an old lefty like me.

4. Yes. There are a couple of ass-monkeys called The Right Brothers.
Watch their video called "Bush was Right" if you have a strong stomach.

6. Yeah, that's the one . . .
And only, just about, outside of the above-mentioned "cuntry" music which seemed to focus on which pieces of military hardware we were going to shove up Bin Laden's ass and very little else.

7. Oops! I didn't see that you mentioned it in the OP.
Maybe I should start reading more than the subject line before I reply!
