1. Malcolm McDowell as Dr Loomis.
My brother hates the Halloween series but he'll watch it for that reason alone.

Also interesting is Danielle Harris is playing Annie Brackett. Danielle played Jamie, the psycho kid who went on the killing rampage, in a few of the Halloween movies. (Remember the clown costume?)

2. That got through SOME of my misgivings...
I saw "House of 10,000 Corpses", and absolutely hated it... enough so that i have avoided "The Devil's Rejects" entirely. Because of this, and because I am something of a purist when it comes to Halloween, and i had deep reservations about what would come of Rob Zombie doing a remake.

I'll give this a chance, but there is no way that it's going top beat John Carpenter. The original, for it's time, was absolutely terrifying, but achieved it's ends without a lot of gratuitous splatter and gore.

Nice casting choice for Loomis, though :-) I've loved Malcolm McDowell since i saw "A Clockwork Orange" 25 years ago.

3. You have to see The Devil's Rejects.
Do not judge it based on the first trifle of a movie that Rob made. Even he knows the first one sucked, but he really redeems himself with The sequel! Please see it.
IT looks like, with his third outing, that Rob has learned and honed his art. It looks fantastic. The story alone looks wonderful to me.
