I'm watching Silver City on Encore, and WOW! Maria Bello
has beautiful legs. She must have been a dancer or swimmer or something. Very shapely calves.

4. Let me restate: I was trying to watch it, but my
husband is out of state, and my oldest (autistic) is constantly into everything, and my husband keeps calling because his flights keep getting diverted due to thunderstorms, and my inlaws keep calling to ask about his travel plans, etc.

The guy playing the politician based on Bush is hysterical. The cast is wonderful, but I keep missing bits and pieces. I know there is the death of an illegal immigrant in contruction, corruption, etc. But I haven't been able to watch even the first half of it all the way through. I finally gave up a little after the scene with Bello in the black dress talking to the investigative reporter.

So yeah, besides the funny malapropisms of the Bush-like character, I was impressed with Maria Bello's legs. I know I'll get more out of it when the kids are gone and I can watch it all the way through without interruption.

5. Chris Cooper plays Pilager (get it?). Great, underappreciated actor.
He was also in Seabiscuit, the Bourne Identity trilogy, and many other films. Plays every character flawlessly. If you ever want to see the best movie ever made about Texas, check out "Lone Star" one day. Written and directed by John Sayles (who also does Silver City, "Passion Fish," and "The Secret of Roan Innish"), starring Cooper, Matthew McConaughey (who was a very good actor before he became famous), Kris Kristofferson, and Elizabeth Pena. Watch until the very last line, which will evoke a gasp if you are Texan.

I love John Sayles's movies. I thought Silver City was a little weaker than average for him. Still good, but I got the idea he ran out of money and was rushed, so it isn't as good as his other films, though the story and characters are every bit as strong.

6. Chris Cooper first got my attention in the tv series "Lonesome Dove".
He is a wonderful actor. I loved him in the Bourne Identity.

The "Pilager" name was the writing of a genius. And Dreyfus, as little as I saw him, was a fierce and nasty KKKarl!!!
