Two days ago, I had the fireplace turned on. Today, I had to run the A/C in my office.

Welcome to New England weather.

(And before you accuse me of being decadent, using an air conditioner when it's eighty degrees, I was printing with the big proofer today, and that requires that the humidity level be reasonable, or the prints come out murky.)

1. Picture that in California

Last week the furnace was running most nights and mornings, then starting Sunday it was plus 90 degrees for 3 days. Now it's closer to normal (a high of around 80 degrees, low around 55.)

Believe me, that's a weird pattern for here in interior SF East Bay. The upside is that our humidity levels haven't been that high.

2. Dang, you've caught our schizophrenic weather. I know you have seen it before, but it must
be a hell of a shock to the natives out there.

6. Yes, as you may have guessed, I'm hard wired to expect crazy weather changes.

The natives are befuddled by it. Our very hot summers are tolerable in part because there's a long, slow build up to the heat.

On the upside, the veggie garden is perking up.

7. I'll bet it was. Let me guess: One of those buildings with non-opeining windows?
That right there should be illegal.

12. Yup
There is this little courtyard thing with trees and stuff right by my side of the office but the door is locked and we're not suppose to open it.

8. Gee, an ocean breeze; just what I need: Lobster vapors on my contract-proof prints.
Though the oyster fog might have helped at least one of them.

9. Our little guy had BAD allergies when he was younger; the A/C did seem to help...
maybe not only because it has a filter, but because it dries the air, who knows.

And it's a BAD spring for allergies. I've never been allergic to ANYTHING airborne, but I've been a Mucus And Sneeze Factory for the last week, and I hope that Kimberly-Clark Corporation appreciates how many boxes of Kleenex I've bought.

13. Damn, it was fucking roasting here today, too.
I know it was only about 80, but it felt at least 100. And tomorrow it's supposed to rain, and by Saturday it'll be back down to 65. Crazy Maine/New England weather. :eyes:

15. For some stupid reason, the management company for my condo....
INSISTS that the heat be kept on until June. Now, the heat can be turned on and off when weather demands. Easter weekend was colder than hell, and they had the heat turned way down. It was 58 degrees in most units. So on Saturday, someone called the manager to complain and the boiler company came and remedied the situation.

Now it has been in the 70s and 80s, and the damn heat is still coming. Thank the gods that I can open windows. At least only the baseboard heating is on and not the radiant.

We need a new management company, but the board does nothing.
