No. Though I have seen several Western send-ups. The dream sequence in "The Guru" springs immediately to mind.

Absolutely. At 30, I'm not nearly as stupid as I was half my lifetime ago.

Define better off. Healthier? Probably. But it'd also be way, way, way, way more boring. And if there's one thing I know, it's that often times, the things that are the most interesting and/or fun are also the unhealthiest ones.

sure. I was a twit when I was younger in many ways, but I was also less cynical, so who's to say?

Sometimes, but we would not be able to enjoy it. I think the planet would be better off with humans that were more like bonobos. Or even just less greedy, violent, and assholish in general. Yes, I know as a human I have my assholish moments, but I generally keep them to a minimum despite what the GD forum thinks about me.

In the long run, it probably won't make much difference. Over a few 100,000 years nature will correct what we have screwed up. That's small comfort for those who have to live here now and in the next 50 years. Actually, humans might be Earth's best bet for avoiding astronomical catastrophies like asteroid impacts. I only recently found out that the habitability of Earth is in its final stretch. Life began over 4 billion years ago, but only has another billion or so years to go. At that time the sun will begin to swell and cook off all of Earth's liquid water.

3. No. I used to watch for about ten minutes at a time on the Indian channel but they weren't subtitled so it was hard to keep up.
