I totally don't get the hate for capris
...unless they're the faux kind that flare at the ankles. :puke:

Hey, why not complete the look with a pair of clogs? :D

3. I have nothing against capris
It's the gauchos having made a comeback am sorry to see.

And even worse, the polyester/knit gauchos :puke:

BUT!
I will make an exception if someone would get me a pair of gauchos like this!!

4. I saw a precious thing the other night...
Denim Capri's with three inch high cuffs with a slit up the side into the cuff with a little flower at the peak of the split...

Oh my, I said to myself, this designer just can't make up their mind about which trend to follow...

But alas, it did not matter...

One of the darlings that populate my fashion conscious suburb took the plunge and now, it will be all he rage...

8. I think the hate is because
more women in capris means less women in shorts. At least that's what some of my male friends hate about them. They blame capris for the absence of cut offs & short shorts.

17. Yes, but, would they end up complaining about....
40, 50 and 60 year old women wearing short shorts?

Sometimes I think we women can't win either way!

I'm in the middle of that age group & I don't wear shorts anyway. But if I wanted to their complaining would NOT bother me. I'm over it.

9. They were too expensive for one thing, the interiors were cramped, and if you had the V-6 engine
Edited on Fri May-11-07 08:59 PM by Redstone
you actually had to loosen the bolts on the motor mounts and lift the engine a few inches to change the two sparks plugs at the back of the engine.

I guess that's why those cars never sold that well here, though they were fairly popular in Europe.

27. Somehow I was thinking you were talking about pants and wondering what a V6 meant...
Edited on Sat May-12-07 12:21 AM by JVS
in the context of tight-fitting pants for women. The ideas of camel-toe and hood bulge converged there for a moment.

18. if you are like me
you already have traumatic memory of being tall and too many UNINTENTIONAL pairs of capri pants, AKA flood pants, I think that is the real reason I don't care for them.

or the other previous incarnations of capri pants.

Somehow, this time around, they work for me.

30. That's actually why I like 'em
I put on pants, think "Oh, no, too short again!" and then realize that I can wear 'em and people will think I MEANT them to be this short!!

Are they "flood pants" or are they capris? Only the garage sale I bought 'em from knows for sure!

I'm 6'1" and I have extremely long legs (36" inseam) to boot. Even Tall pants aren't often long enough.

24. I like capris and cropped pants.
(Not the flared ones or gauchos, though. Ugly is ugly.) The reason I like them? I am 4'10" tall (ahem) and they fit me like full length pants, with no hemming. ;)

26. Audrey Hepburn could carry them off. Not many can.
The more I really look at them and think about it, the more I agree that they're not flattering. My mom gave me a few pairs, but I haven't worn them. The fashionistas say they do no one any favors.

33. They're not flattering at all.
Two of my friends (and they're tall and thin, so you'de think capris would look good on them) wear them all summer.
I think they look like their legs were cut in half.
