6. We have a kickass place that serve 'em here in Stevens Point.
The Gyros and Kebab House on Main Street, across from the ShopKo.

The place is run by one of the economic profs here at UWSP. The restaurant also has other great Mediterranean food.

BTW, their Baklave is awesome!

7. How do you pronounce "Gyro?"
I have heard "Jy (rhymes with High)-ro", I thought it was Gee (hard G)-ro, but my husband says "Hero." For a long time I thought he was talking about a different sandwich.

13. A bunch of Greeks I grew up around
all pronounced it that way too.
Then ythere was Earl the Greek resturant owner who turned me on to them.He pronounced it that way too.
I would think a bunch of Greeks would know.

Athen's Corner.

some of the first foreign food I ever had. I love all the mediterranean cuisines.

19. Why must you taunt me so?
I used to get the best Gyros at a little greek place near Broadway & Belmont in Chicago. The people around here can't even pronounce it, much less make a good one.
