Great movies coming out my ears! |
|
That's an odd subject line, I know, but what it means is that, for complex reasons I can't really get into, I just got a huge box of Criterion DVDs in the mail, all for me, all free of charge! I got to choose them, too. So I've got some fine viewing ahead of me.
Any other Criterion lovers/collectors out there?

From that collection I have For All Mankind, The Passion of Joan of Arc, Triumph of Will (with sociological commentary) and maybe some others. Are the Kurasawa films from Criterion?

Yojimbo and Ran are a couple that I ordered, and I know there are several others as well.

4. Criterion rules! Just saw Umberto D and Bambini Ci Guardano by de Sica |

A bit sappy, but very effective.

I had beaucoup Criterion LD's when that format was alive: now that the $1500 player is dead all they're good for is very large coasters.
