1. Satire about racism.
And Paul Moony is a genius.

5. Yo Mama
Seconded. Paul Mooney is a genius. I had no idea he wrote for SNL. I know he wrote for Pryor-- I wonder if it was just this one episode or if it was others, too?

6. I looked him up on IMDB
He's credited with just that one episode in 1975. Maybe that's why it stands out apart from the Killer Bees and the Coneheads.

7. Paul Moony could carry his own show.
But probably wouldn't put up with Comedy Central's nonsense. :)

11. LMAO!!

I can think of a dozen shows that need to beg Paul Moony to guest write an episode.

He can start with Seventh Heaven. :P

And then tell off the Lost and Heroes writers for having the sole black guys on each show either get shot or shoot people.

Actually, he should just pop up during SNL or MadTV. Those shows need to add Paul Moony and subject the unfunny rest of the cast.

2. I don't think you would see that nowadays. All in the Family probably wouldn't make it either.

I guess we can thank the right wing hate merchants for lowering the level of debate to the point where everyone is hypersensitive to words and even a brilliant piece like this would not be appreciated for what it is..satire.

4. Yeah, it's been thirty years
and we've regressed.

Yeah, there's more biting satire on the cable channels but not on the major networks.

And it's sad to see how far SNL has fallen.

8. I wouldn't blame the right wing for that
Certainly not after what happened right here over a Super Bowl ad a few months ago.

AFAIK, political correctness is a creation of the left. When did you ever hear a Republic saying, "You can't say that! It's offensive!"?

13. Exhibit A: Sex Education. Exhibit B: Evolution. Exhibit C: GLBT Issues. . .Exhibit Z: Harry Potter
I'm not saying it's only a Republican issue, but it is a Republican issue.

I think the label "PC" is applied primarily to liberals, but the ideas behind it are equally republican. In fact, it's probably worse on the right wing side.

15. *wap* The court finds this evidence inadmissible
With the exception of some terms used in GLBT issues, it is not germaine to the case before this court, which is the acceptance or non-acceptance of certain words as offensive or inoffensive.

The court refers to Sec. 8, wherein it is established that right-wingers do not say "You can't say that! It's offensive!" Rather, they embrace words meant to demean or disparage persons and ideas they deem of a lower class.

The court will entertain exceptions after a five-minute recess, during which time I will post something even sillier than this.

16. Hilarious satire
I watched it when it was first on and laughed my ass off.

And no, it doesn't get greenlighted today, at least on regular tv, which shows how much we have regressed as a society IMO.
