Here it is - the 9 ways a batter can reach first base
1. Hit
2. Base on Balls
3. Hit by Pitch
4. Fielder's Choice
5. Dropped Third Strike
6. Error
7. Catcher's Interference
8. Umpire's Interference
9. Double Play (I am presuming a 6-5-4 type DP here)

And here is a photo of the dinner plate in my china set!

2. Mmmm...
Wouldn't a double play in that sense qualify as a fielder's choice?

I totally didn't think of umpire's interference, though.

3. I think the same of the DP - it IS a fielder's choice.
But that is what was listed on the site I googled.

14. Whew!
It's been a few years since I scored a game, so I thought I was slippin'.

But, yeah — I went back over it in my head, and I know when the batter was safe, it was a 6-4 (or 4-6 or 5-4) FO at second and a 4-3 (or 6-3) FC at first.

Okay, here's a nightmare: Runner goes on a dropped third strike, slips, hauls it back to first. Catcher throws down to first. First baseman tags the runner, then the hitter. How do you score it?

21. LOL!
Hell, I dunno. I just made it up. :P

Okay — 2-3 for the tag, then 3 UA for the putout on the runner? Can one player have two assists on the same play?

Now my head hurts.

Shitfuck. x(

37. Yup
First batter in the first inning gets on on the first pitch — doesn't matter how. Without throwing another pitch, the pitcher picks him off first — but there's catcher's interference on the play, so the batter gets first base. Then he gets picked off without a pitch, but again there's catcher's interference. Et cetera.

Repeat for eight innings, assuming the home club's ahead.

32. 25
The minimum number of pitches thrown by a pitcher would be 25. (Through 8 innings a visiting pitcher could throw a minumum of 24 pitches 8 innings x 3 outs. In the top of the ninth he could serve up a home run and the game would end 1-0 and 25 pitches.

40. Oh, right.
Not that I've ever seen such a game, but yeah. 1 pitch per batter, outs by pop-up, fly-out, or line-drive out.
