I just love ELO - they are now my 5th favorite band of all time

:woohoo:

What's your favorite ELO album!

2. I love that album - it's a classic
and "I'm Alive" has to be one of the best from ELO

3. There are so many good ones
I think Eldorado was the first one that REALLY blew me away. But it would tough for me to choose between that one and New World Record or Out of the Blue.

And I agree that the songs they did for Xanadu are terrific. I don't know why Jeff Lynne was so down on that work.

As you can probably tell, I'm kind of a fan.

4. First Record and first CD I ever bought was ELO's "Out of the Blue"
I had to keep the tradition when I went to CDs

6. What are the first four bands?
I can't really participate in the poll because I don't care for ELO very much (I'll never forgive them for "Don't Bring Me Down"), but I am curious to know what the top 4 are. From what I recall of your posts I'd guess Led Zeppelin is #1, I believe Yes would be up there, but don't have a clue as to the other two.

18. So I was right about Yes?
I love Yes, Zep and Pink Floyd. Not so hot on Queen after the second album, don't like ELO at all, but 60% isn't bad :)

19. Yes you are right on Yes
here's the official order:

1.) Led Zeppelin
2.) Queen
3.) Pink Floyd
4.) Yes
5.) Electric Light Orchestra

This list changes from time to time but LZ/Q have always been 1-2. Just recently I bumpled PF up to #3 (replacing Yes) and moved ELO into the 5th slot.

Ask me again in 6 month and this list might be changed

quintessential ELO.

13. While I'm not a big Xanadu fan, the rest are too tough to choose from
Edited on Wed Jun-13-07 01:59 PM by MissMillie
I love A New World Record, and I love Eldorado.... but On the Third Day has a special place.. and oh yeah my first concert was the Out of the Blue tour....

Can't choose.

(on edit: "Time" is missing from this list, and it's a glaring omission....)

25. I agree with you about Time
I love that album. It's one of the few "concept albums" that I've thought would make a great movie, as well.

16. Saw them LIVE in the mid '70's
Open air music theater in Michigan: Pine Knob.

The cello player did a rock/r&b/boogie woogie solo for about 15 minutes. OH.MY.GOD.

"Fire on High" was done with a hot air balloon over the amphitheater hit by about 50 spotlights and a mirror ball under the basket with a 10' diameter mirror ball hit by at least 25 lasers.

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD

Did I mention I had dropped 2 125 mike AUTHENTIC SANDOZ LSD pills, out of a sealed bottle of 100 we got from Switzerland in a diplomatic pouch.

I WAS God.
