My wife is severely dyslexic, she has had to struggle all her life with it.Poking fun at a disadvantaged group is not the kind of thing I would expect from the good people here at DU. We are supposed to be compassionate progressives and........




...oh fuck all that noise, I have a funny as hell story to share. :evilgrin:

My wife went all the way through school having extreme reading difficulties and none of the "professional educators" in the Sapulpa OK public school system ever bothered to try to figure out why as far as I could tell.

Anyway, we had been in an accident and were receiving treatment at a local clinic that was located next to a DUI school. On about the 3rd day of treatment, we pulled up in front of the building, she looked at the sign on the front of the DUI school and calmly remarked "oh, I didn't know there was an IUD school here."

I don't know if it was the pain meds, me hitting my head in the accident or if it was really that funny, but I literally rolled out of the car and lay on the ground unable to breathe I was laughing so hard. When I regained my composure, I said "my gods, you're dyslexic". A strange and humorous way to find out indeed. :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
