Any Truists out there
Truist is a term that has yet to be been defined

but there is this about truism.

It appears there might be enough like minded
human beings here at DU to form a quorum.

It has been disappointing to surf the web searching for an entertaining,
interesting, website/message board that did not have a fair number of people
that felt it neccessary to tell everyone on numerous occasions
that they believe this or that unfounded
fairytale based on some sort of supernatural silliness.

The conjecture (if it even rises to that level) that there is a lot of common ground
between most of the people that claim one or two deitys and those that reject
all deitys seems ironic at best. It is amusing to think that a " christian " and an
" athiest " are only different in that an " athiest " rejects 20,000 or so deitys &
the " Christian " only rejects 19,999, but it still keeps the "athiest"
playing the game in the poly & monothiests playground.

There seems to be no term to define those that do not, for example.
have any use for astrology. Who would willingly define themselves
with a term antiastrologist ? You do not deny the existance of something by defining
yourself in terms related to the very thing you claim not to have any use for.

In short it would be great if all you people that have doubts about your ghost stories
would just try to work it out between you & your ghosts without airing your doubts,
thoughts & inconsistancies in a place where you think your ghosts might read it
& somehow reassure you or at least take notice that you are at least willing to conform
in order to partake in any festivities that you have heard urban legends about.

There must be many sites devoted to nothing but your particular supernatural fixation,
please go there & post your thoughts where someone more well versed in your pick can
explain all the ins outs ups downs rules suggestions and any other dogma that you need
to be mindful of in order to reap that huge death benefit as well as
live out a joyful or remorseful life here on Earth.

Now anyone else that thinks that even wasting time or effort
and esspecially typing on a topic that you feel has no merit,
join the effort to bring truth to the planet, become a " Truist "

So who wishes to try out the newest ism on the block and
get in on the ground floor of the latest effort to shed the
superstitions of the past and start down the path to a real civilization.

Truists, people that think athiests & agnostics
are truely those of a little faith.

Truists, those that think even a little faith is too much.

Truists, we're sorta like skeptics only nicer.

Truist, accept no imitations for " Truth "

A word about Myth, myths are great, myths are useful, myths are wonderful,
Joe Campbell is a personal Hero of moof's, but when people start thinking something
that is a myth is real, then it is no longer a myth, it is detrimental.

PS partial credit to Noam Chomsky as his use of the term " Truism "
may have been subconscience source for truist.
