1. Hot Damn, Bernie Mac is number 2.
I was gonna say Bernie Mac if this thread was a question what we thought. I don't think it's up there with "All it the Family", or "WKRP", but that man is doing some great work, and what is capturing about the psychology of those kids is priceless. The episode where he tries to teach the little boy chess and the little boy uses Bernie's "nature" against him to get him to play paintball is brilliant.

3. I've never seen it.
But I didn't have network channels on my satellite for quite some years.

4. It's based on his actual experience
his sister got in trouble with drugs and he had to take her kids and raise them. And that is what the show is about, him being a comedian, and being well off and having everything the way he likes it, and then having these inner city kids who essentially lived in the projects come live with him, and the strugges they had. It is such a great show, quite underrated.

10. It is on Fox
I just found out it went of the air in 2006. :(

It is worth watching, I've seen the chess/paintball episode about 3 times and it never fails to crack me up.

21. It is THE photo of Carroll O'Connor as Archie Bunker. IMO, All in the Family is #1
of all time. I don't see where this list is supposed to be in order but, if it is, I would put I Love Lucy and the Honeymooners closer to the top. All 3 0f these shows were groundbreaking in their own right. One more groundbreaking show that deserves mention is Get Smart. Who else had shoe phones or a cone of silence?

11. I was just thinking of Soap.
Groundbreaking, but it kind of fell apart after the first couple of seasons.

17. Kudos for including "Malcom in the Middle"; it's so often overlooked. (Life really -IS- unfair)
But there are at least three on that list
which aren't even CLOSE to "NewsRadio".

I'm sorry, but a good "sitcom" is defined in part
by an "ensemble cast". And NewsRadio was the ensemble
cast to END all ensemble casts.

Not since "WKRP in Cincinnati" has the WHOLE so greatly
exceeded the sum of its parts.

(Odd- they were both sitcoms set in radio stations.
That never occurred to me until just now.)

Great cast, quality writing, loving tribute to a magic city. Maybe some day it'll be out on DVD.

There's WKRP, then the rest duke it out. "As God is my witness, ...."

27. I love Lucy should be #1. They did all kinds of things never done
before, including representing a mixed marriage on teevee. Ditto for The Honeymooners.

I agree with most of the choices but not at all with their ranking.
