I spent my night getting sick and near panic attacks!!
Seriously, why must house-buying be so fricking painful. I had about 1 hour of sleep last night. Even a few rounds of Railroad Tycoon II (my destresser) did nothing to help calm me down.

1. It can be a very trying time LynneSin.
Just know that it will all be over within the next couple of months and hopefully you will be enjoying your new home.

We just wrapped up a very trying move ourselves, one that culminated in the death of our kitty three days after we moved into the house. He is now buried in the yard.

But last night, we enjoyed our first cooked meal in the new house and it was great!

5. Thanks - we have a dog too...
I can't imagine that Lunatic leaving me just yet....I would be more of a total complete mess.

2. Ooh I had railroad tycoon somewhere years ago
I wonder what happened to it?
Anyway, are you using a real estate agent or doing stuff yourself? Buying wasn't that stressful for me however I put an offer on something that went on the market the next day (the day after I first met with the agent) and got it (one other person offered same amount but I was more flexible with move in date so I won). I hope you find something!

4. I have an agent and she's great - no way I'd solo my first time
and I love RRII. I bought a copy of RRIII for $10 the other day but really thought the game sucked. Of course in RRII I like to edit the maps just a bit so I can be wildly successful but damnit, I can never get the Gold medal

I hope you feel better soon, I know what a panic attack feels like.

I know you say its because of house buying
but are you sure it wasn't because you interacted
with philboy and southpawkicker last night on the love song thread???

that one knocked my world out of whack....

   :hide:

but really this is for you

7. Well, I offered to go park my 1977 Buick in the driveway to bring the property values down...
and cinch the deal.

Buuuut, you wouldn't have any of it. You were still waiting for a phone call from some guy. :)

(Good luck on your house purchase, LynneSin.)

8. I almost smoked a cigarette the day my house closed
And, this was after ten years of not smoking, and several of having no craving for a cigarette. Between the loan thing and the housing, I had scads of panic attacks.

But, it was worth it, sissie!

12. It's stressful especially the first time.
The anxiety is high until you sign the closing documents, then there's the flurry of activity around moving in, then there's the buyer's remorse, but eventually it gets better.

17. I've never done RR1 but RR2 is the best
You can probably pick up a copy for $10 somewhere since it's been out forever. However, RR3 just sucks. I hate how all these games folks feel they have to '3D-ize' everything.

15. Funny... I didn't stress
When the guy who owned the house I live in now wanted to sell, he asked me if I wanted to buy it because of the studio. I told him that I really didn't think I could, but his fil was the agent. They ran the numbers and they said I could do it.

I really didn't want a house. I just went on with my life as though nothing was happening and the next thing I knew I was signing a bunch of papers and I closed on New Years eve of that year. I was at a party and I mentioned that I just closed on a house and everyone was acting like it was a big deal or something..lol. I guess by not really giving a shit, I didn't stress. Maybe you can try that. :)

16. I can so sympathize.
I just bought a house and sold the old one. For the almost three months from the time we decided to start looking to now, finally settled in the new place, I haven't slept all night even once. So much craziness and worry.

I think selling the old place was actually more difficult -- a lot more emotional entanglements, etc.
