Looking for opinions on the new Ryan Adams album - Rock n Roll |
|
I just saw the video for So Alive and was impressed. I'd written him off as a prima-donna pretty boy of an alterna-country rocker.
But this song and video were great. Neither followed the expected scripts. The song and video kinda reminded me of the really good alternative music of the late 80s and early 90s...
Is the rest of the album good?

I would say most of the tracks are as good as So Alive if not better. Really nice. I have seen it around for pretty cheap. You should get it.

3. sounds like he's trying to be like replacements, cure, influence. |
|
ya know, that vibe and it's REALLY NOT my cup of tea as far as style goes but I have YET to hear ryan adams write a bad song..The guy is FLAT OUT talented...Got to give respect to the man. I think he will continue to reinvent his sound because frankly he can and he's a true artist...I would get anything he puts out...

6. He shouldn't have played the guitars on the record |
|
there are far better guitarplayers at his disposal. Strike the "pretty boy" from the "prima-donna pretty boy" assessment, he's all bloated and chubby now. The prima-donna part still stands. Have you heard the answering machine message he left for the journalist who dared to take him to task for his bullshit?

F Chord Fitzgerald- the great could be, but still isn't yet (and he's had far more opportunity than just about anyone of the past decade)

11. Who knows?? We have no decent radio here. |

But I have heard Three Doors Down and Linkin Park. And all I can say for them, is
:puke: We would have hooted their whiny asses off the stage, back in the old days!!!
