Anyone watching "John From Cincinnati"? |
|
Opinions please? I'm loving it, but I don't have a CLUE what's going on. Ed O'Neil is batshit crazy, I do know that. :)

1. I watched it from the beginning, it's one weird ass show |
|
I still can't say whether I like it or not, it's just too disjointed and bizarre. Do you want to know what is going on, in a nutshell? LOL.

4. It's like string theory if you ask me |
|
very chaotic and disconnected. And I REALLY hate that fucking John character, he's like a younger version of Rainman on steroids. :banghead:

5. I honestly don't know why I watch it every week? |
|
Maybe to fool myself into thinking that I am getting something for my $$ to HBO? Thank God for Big Love, or I would cancel my subscription!
They really need a good new series to hit on HBO. I loved Rome, but that ended after 2 seasons. :(

14. Us too, we LOVED that show, it was excellent |
|
but from what I heard too expensive to produce. Damn shame. There is so much more they could have done with that... :(

My favorite series on HBO are:
1. Six Feet Under 2. Sopranos 3. Rome 4. Big Love
And I do love their wonderful movies:
Something the Lord Made, Lackawanna Blues, Warm Springs, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee and a many others that I can't remember at 8:30am.

just one of those 'taste' things I guess.
So far not much of anything this HBO season interests me, except Big Love. :banghead:

7. I agree with most of you |
|
It' s just weird. I want to like it, but all the characters except for Shaun need to be institutionalized for rampant, untreated mental health issues. Very disjointed and bizarre story lines (the guy who bought the hotel), etc. It's getting tedious.
Big Love is great and I was hooked from the pilot. I also like Flight of the Conchords. Those nerdy Kiwis crack me up.

8. I liked it up until the last episode |
|
And the reason I didn't like that one was that Shaun didn't surf! I just love to watch that kid surf, he is amazing.

9. The parrot is the boddhisatva |
|
Or whatever kind of bird that is. Mark my words, that bird is manipulating everything. O'Neil is smart to do what he says.
Crazy? No crazier than the plot so far. My stepfather had that on the other night. After about ten minutes I said, "These people have all been out in the sun too long."

12. Or a loon. I was never a Deadwood fan. |
|
Very early on, a reviewer said 'John from Cincinnati' is a "floater" from HBO. IOW, a little turd that refuses to proceed down the bowl, and spins endlessly until the next flush.
I am somewhat inclined to agree with her. :eyes:

So I must disagree with you and the reviewer entirely. Miltch is a god.

19. I think it's brilliant. |
|
The Ed O'Neil character has Alzheimer's, I believe. The moment in the last show between John and the Vietnam vet sent chills down my spine.
